Garmin is recalling the devies because some battery that was manufactured in a certain date range has the potential of overheating which can cause a fire hazard.

If your nuvi is affected by the recall, you should return it to a directed dealer. The battery will be replaced and then immediately returned to you. This service is free and you do not have to pay.
