Visited Ye Olde Manor Crewe on 02/06/11 and as usual the meal was up to its excellent standard. The gentleman who served us was very cheerful and pleasant as were the other staff who were on duty that day. One small comment I would like to add, the knives could do with sharpening! Otherwise a very pleasant time was had by myself, husband and two friends and the price of the meal is wonderful value. - Sandra Roscrow - posted 23 months ago
I visited The Pretty Pigs in Tamworth for a meal & being a coeliac & dairy free was pleased to see that not only did they cater for me but the meal was great & well within my budget. Since then i have taken my daughter & her family there, (although some are vegetarians & its a cavery) catered for them too, i can now go out & enjoy a meal with my family with out me having to cook it. I use the pretty pigs all the time now we even spent our 39th anniversary meal there, well done to all the staff, management & particularly the chef who cooked the meal. - Mrs Sue Haywood - posted 21 months ago

We have been customers at The Royal George Shoreham by Sea for a few years and always received good service and food but in the last few months it has gone downhill all the staff seem to have left and one poor girl named Anya seems to be running the whole place she does her very best but last week the food was so bad we asked for a rebate. we are wondering wether or not to go back.
What a shame for such a busy pub in a good location why have Crown Carveries not put a tempoary manager in to run the place properly? - Ann Lee - posted 11 months ago

Dear Sirs
I am a regular to the Crown carveries all over the UK. Personally I find them all excellent value for money, friendly and always good food.
My recent trip to Ratho Park near Edinburgh EH27 8EG, I invited some friends to go with me. The food was excellent value and the usual high standard and our waitress Rudi was wonderful helpful and attentive to all our needs, and she added to the enjoyment of our experience. So much so my friends who had never been to a Crown Carvery before told me that they enjoyed themselves and the atmosphere so much that they would "Come again soon"
Thank you Crown Carveries for providing such a great eating out experience - Mr Rawdon Middlebrook,Aderdeen.

I received a voucher from Old Moat House in Luton for a free birthday meal with 3 other adults paying. Raved about the place to friends but when we presented the voucher nobody knew what to do about it and in the end the waitress Maggie was the person who took it. Then there was no mash potatoe and all the other vegetables were nearly cold. - Petina Laurence - posted 29 days ago

i went to the west bulls in hull today sunday the 15th of april and had a carvery and i have to say it was the worst carvery we have ever had and we eat out most weekends the beef you couldnt cut they was no roast patatoes ready the veg was ok the stuffing was like mud pie .i spoke to the manager and he said they are trying to get the beef of the menu as he said they have had complaints about it .but that is what a carverys main meat is.i found him not helpful and also as a manager he should not serve it to the customers .if i won a meal for four i can honestley say i i would send you it back most upset with west bulls in hull . - mrs pinkney - posted 24 days ago

We visit Crown Carveries often and sometimes more than once a week because they are excellent value for retired people and families with young children. We travel from Birmingham to Studley to The Barley Mow.We have always had a good meal there and it is worth travelling a bit further to get a quality meal.We have two Carveries nearer us but each time we have visited it has been poor.On the 30th.of April we went to the White Swan in Wythall about 7.00pm and it was very disappointing. The vegetables were dried up and I commented about this but the two chefs on duty took no notice as if they hadn't heard me, although there were fresher vegetables in casseroles nearby! My husband asked if they could replenish the stuffing which they did.The veg.tasted awful. They are always fresh at the Barley Mow.The last time we went to the Swan the young chef quibbled about the amount of meat.I don't think we will be returning there. The last time we went to the nearest Carvery in Kings Heath the meal was cold (in the afternoon) and we noticed how shabby the furnishings were with stains and holes on the seats in one area of the pub.In the past we have had good meals there but it wasn't a pleasant environment to eat a meal. - ANN BALL - posted 12 days ago

we always find the food excellant - but this time that we visited we found the floor adjacent to the gravy point dirty and slippery - being an invalid myself I thought it dangerous for a person using crutches.
